PASSPORT: Palm Beach
Window shop along Worth Avenue, soak up the Florida sunshine and take a deep, relaxing break after the holiday rush...
Holiday Haven
For years my parents have lived in Palm Beach, so over the last 20 years our family has spent most holidays going there — and it easily has become one of my favorite and most treasured destinations! The character and history of Palm Beach are filled with the unique juxtaposition of a place that is quite glamorous but still low key, and the city has done a fabulous job of maintaining its originality and chic charm…
Our first stop is usually THE BREAKERS for lunch and a day at the spa. This Palm Beach classic was founded in 1896 by industrialist Henry M. Flagler and has defined the term “luxury resort” every day since. Their tag line says it all — “the original home of R & R”. Where better to recuperate from the busy rush up to the holiday season?
While THE BREAKERS is the old school anchor on the beach, our favorite place to stay is The BRAZILIAN COURT. Also an historical landmark, the BRAZILIAN COURT is an elegant, quiet retreat surrounded by lush courtyards. The architecture is beautiful and we love to tuck into their private terrace restaurant at night…
THE BRAZILIAN COURT is also conveniently located to some of my other favorite spots, like Worth Avenue. This luxury shopping destination has everything from designer boutiques to beautiful interiors shops. You can really find anything you would ever want here…I love how they decorate the big tree for the holidays! Here, my husband John models a recent purchase…And a stop at CHANEL is always inspiring. I love the chic shopping bag tied up so perfectly. It’s almost as pretty as what we had inside!
Whenever I’m in Palm Beach I always stop by TOMAS MAIER to see what they have in. I love their sweaters and accessories. His line is filled with great classics and understated pieces and the presentation is lovely…
JENNIFER MILLER is a boutique store that’s known for its curated selection of fine and costume jewelry. I love the range of accessories they have…their mix of high and low reflects my approach to interiors and my personal style as well.
ISLAND HOME is a great destination for all things beach chic. From furniture and lighting, to textiles and gifts, it is always one of my favorite stops!
Of course if you are around Worth Avenue, you have to stop to eat at the famous restaurant, TA-BOO. It has a bistro style atmosphere, with a great bar and a roll-away roof that they will open up for dining under the stars. Definitely a place to see and be seen!
Another favorite restaurant is always THE PALM BEACH GRILL. It is a casual classic spot with an all American menu and laid-back feeling…a perfect place to relax and eat delicious food after a busy day of shopping Worth Ave!
Antique shopping on the iconic DIXIE HIGHWAY is something everyone needs to do at least once in their life! With more than 40 antiques shops, I am always amazed by the collections of 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century antiques, vintage and modern furniture, lighting and accessories.
MECOX in Palm Beach is my favorite interior store here…it was originally on Worth Avenue but relocated to Dixie Highway which allowed them to expand their inspiring store. Love seeing my Morris Lantern hanging in the shop!
I love WILSON ANTIQUES, located across from where my old favorite Lars Bolander used to be on Dixie Highway. They have an incredible collection of antiques and light fixtures. It’s never hard to find something beautiful here…

In the end, after making the design rounds, the best part of the day is getting together with my family, enjoying the beautiful weather and soaking up the Palm Beach lifestyle we love so much. It truly has become my favorite holiday tradition!
